On August 29, 2013, C. H. Reed partnered with Mantec to host our first ever Lean Technology Forum. A total of 43 professionals from a broad range of industries attended the event to learn about some of the innovative lean manufacturing technologies available today.2013 C. H. Reed Lean Manufacturing Forum

The overall goal of the program was to demonstrate how lean technologies can remove non-value-added activities from manufacturing processes.  Our specialists discussed compressed air, liquid handling, spray finishing, assembly tooling and ergonomic material handling, focusing specifically on efficiency, ergonomics and environmental impact.

Reed, provided a background of the company’s transformation, which involved a tedious implementation of an ERP system and an overhaul of C. H. Reed’s internal resources.  Rick Miller,     C. H. Reed’s Service Coordinator, then went on to talk about implementing a geographic tracking program for our service technicians, which has helped provide accountability and quality assurance for our customers.

After the initial presentations, the attendees were separated into groups and had the opportunity to listen to some of the Application Specialists at C. H. Reed.  They presented on an eclectic selection of manufacturing technologies that have helped our customers become leaner organizations.  They also shared some helpful industry insight on those technologies to better educate the attendees on the wide selection of technologies represented at the Forum.  Attendees were also given a collection of educational articles, case studies and potential ROI’s that covered the technologies presented.
