Industrial Diaphragm Pumps
We feature an assortment of double diaphragm pumps, which operate via positive displacement. A double diaphragm pump consists of two flexible reciprocating diaphragms that draw in and expel fluid. This dual-stroke method provides an excellent fluid pumping process for working with challenging materials such as corrosive chemicals, viscous liquids, small solids and volatile solvents.
C.H. Reed offers two double diaphragm pump types:
- Air-operated: Air-operated models are the most popular diaphragm pump type. They rely on compressed air to drive the diaphragms. They consist of two chambers — the air shifts continually from one chamber to another, which forces fluid out of one chamber and into a discharge pipe. This process causes the other chamber to fill with liquid.
- Electric: This type of diaphragm pump includes a small yet powerful electric motor that generates the pumping action. During pumping, a built-in cam system transforms circular motion to linear motion, forcing the pumping mechanism to move in an up-and-down direction. The typical pressure range of an electric diaphragm pump is a minimum of 60 to a maximum of 100 psi.

Industrial Hose and Piston Pumps
We also offer an assortment of piston and hose pumps from Graco and ARO. Piston pumps are available in single-post, double-post and heavy-duty double-post configurations and can accommodate a wide range of viscous liquids. Peristaltic hose pumps have rollers or shoes that rotate and compress the hose, which creates a vacuum that draws fluid into and through the hose.
