Tom Rogers Memoir
We would like to take a moment to announce the passing of Tom Rogers; a long-tenured employee, C.H. Reed family member, previous Vice President, and previous shareholder of the company.
Tom was the son of Kay Rogers and the grandson of Charles Harold Reed, founder of C.H. Reed. He held many different positions in his 48 years working for the company. He started out as a delivery driver, and quickly worked his way to become one of the highest earning salesmen for many years of his career. Tom also served as the Branch Manager for our Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA locations, as well as the Paint Finishing & Assembly Tools Service Manager. In his later years, he helped advance the IT Department and kickstarted the company’s marketing initiatives as the VP of IT & Marketing. His last position with the company before retirement was a business development and sales coaching role.
Tom was very prideful of the company that his grandfather created. He cared deeply, not only for the success of the business but for the success of those around him. Though he often showcased a tough exterior, he was a kind, gentle, and compassionate man who was always willing to lend a helping hand, both inside and outside of work.
Tom had a passion for music, loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sharon. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, his wife Sharon Rogers, daughters Amy and Diana, and his siblings Donna Dandy, Missy Heaton, Mike Rogers, and Jim Rogers.
